For the 175th anniversary of railways in Switzerland, ROCO is presenting the Re 10/10 combination in an anniversary version as a special edition. The locomotives in green SBB livery were covered with decorative strips and coats of arms.
The double traction from Re 4/4 and Re 6/6 is called Re 10/10 for the sake of simplicity. This name derives from the ten driven axles that the double team has, and accordingly does not refer to a separate locomotive type. The SBB uses the Re 10/10 almost exclusively in front of heavy freight trains on the Gotthard line. The powerful duo manages the prescribed maximum load of 1,400 tons on the towing hook at 80 kilometers per hour on a gradient of 26 per thousand.
