S.E.5a - British biplane fighter - Chile - electro

RAF S.E.5a – British biplane fighter aircraft of the First World War. It was developed at the Royal Aircraft Factory. It was one of the fastest aircrafts of the war, while being both stable and relatively maneuverable.

This is a semi-scale model in 1:8 scale designed according to the rules for flying air combat in the model category WW1 ACES. The whole model structure is subject to this.

The model must be light but durable and easy to repair. Therefore, it can be disassembled and the individual units can be easily and quickly replaced if damaged. The shape of the model corresponds to the original, but has slightly enlarged tail surfaces and simplified details.

The model can be equipped with an electric motor or a glow 4-stroke engine. The only difference in the design of the engine is the mount. It is also possible to convert from the electric version to the combustion version and vice versa.

The kit includes sheets of stickers for creating six different color schemes. Two Chilean schemes (66 – MAULE, 65 – ACONCAGUA) and four British schemes (red: Capt. Leslie H. Holden B129; classic olivegreen combined with clear dope linen: Lt. Frank Alberry D6995, Capt. H. G. Forrest C9539, Training aircraft D3541).
