Special paint "50 years of IC" With switchable high beams and individually switchable headlights or taillights and driver's cabin lighting in digital mode.The standard livery for DB long-distance locomotives is traffic red with a light gray front strip. For the anniversary of "50 years of Intercity in Germany" in September 2021, Deutsche Bahn gave model 101 013 a unique color scheme to match the color scheme of the IC buses. It received a light gray design with traffic red decorative stripes; already known from ICE and long-distance buses. A total of 145 locomotives of the 101 series were put into operation by the end of 1999.
